Hutton Energy’s founders are a group of common shareholders with international experience, supported by in-country management and operational teams. Current global activity across the group covers the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.
Hutton founders’ global experience and investments cover conventional onshore and offshore assets in North America, Africa, and the North Sea. Over the last decade, the activity has also extended to unconventional projects across North America, Australia and Europe. The group continues to look for opportunities globally.
The founders were some of the first movers in the Marcellus Shale. Ten years after initially acquiring 600 sq km of acreage in North Eastern Pennsylvania, the principals have interests in over 500 wells with production at 100 MMcf/d and growing.
In addition to the Marcellus, the founders have interests in the and Montney Shale in Western Canada.
Macquarie Bank invested in the group in 2010 and has remained a significant shareholder in Hutton’s expanding business. The Hutton Energy investment is held by Macquarie’s Metals and Energy Capital Division (MEC), which has invested in and provided finance for mining and energy projects for over twenty years.
